Our unique collaborations-combined with the advanced technology utilized by our genomic center specialists- create a Clinical Trials program virtually unmatched by any other in South Florida and considered among one of the best in the nation.
Miami Cancer Institute can provide access to clinical trials not widely available elsewhere. Clinical trials find new ways to treat and diagnose cancer and are ongoing. If an appropriate trial is available, we will talk to you about the benefits and risks.
Fernandez Family Foundation Endowed Chair In Cancer Research, Chief of Medical Oncology, Chief Scientific Officer & Deputy Director, Miami Cancer Institute
Our team of multidisciplinary physicians helps us understand the genetic changes driving someone’s cancer and determine the best treatment for that patient — whether that is standard of care or innovative clinical trials. We try to make sure there is a clinical trial available for everyone who walks through our doors at Miami Cancer Institute, providing access to treatment that might not be available otherwise. We are working with collaborators all over the globe to design clinical trials that explore novel approaches, including immunotherapy and targeted therapy. That’s how we advance care and make progress.
I started to feel better right away. I didn't have any side effects, I was able to eat again and my energy returned. It was wonderful.
As Florida's only member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Alliance, Miami Cancer Institute is part of a deep and functional collaboration that affords patients access to innovative treatments right here at home and ensures that the standards of care developed by our multidisciplinary disease management team match those at MSK.
